World youth skills day is celebrated annually on the 15th of July, which was first declared in 2014 by the United Nations General Assembly. On this day, the world recognizes the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship. This year’s theme is reimagining youth skills post-pandemic. Globally, youth employment declined by 8.7% in 2020 when the pandemic hit, compared to 3.7% for adults.
